Skinny Bob: New Footage Emerges as Recent Analysis Claims the Original Alien Footage Is Real

The strange story of “Skinny Bob” has suddenly become interesting again.
For anyone unfamiliar with the case, the original Skinny Bob footage appeared on YouTube in 2011 under the username ivan0135. The grainy, apparently archival footage appeared to show a humanoid “Grey” alien being examined by what appeared to be military personnel. Other videos associated with the account appeared to show UFOs, military personnel and additional alleged extraterrestrial material.
For more than a decade, the footage has remained one of the most debated pieces of alleged alien footage on the internet.
Now, in 2026, there are two developments worth noting: recent technical analyses have argued that the original Skinny Bob footage may actually be genuine, and entirely new footage claiming to be connected to the Skinny Bob material has appeared online.
Recent Analysis Claims Skinny Bob Is Real
In July 2024, researcher Noah Hradek published an analysis titled “Skinny Bob is not CGI.”
Hradek examined the original footage using image-processing techniques, including error-level analysis, noise-pattern analysis and examination of the lighting in individual frames.
His conclusion was striking. While acknowledging that the analysis could not establish the footage's authenticity with absolute certainty, Hradek argued that the evidence indicated that the footage was probably not CGI.
He wrote:
“All of this indicates it’s a real photo with real lighting, modern CGI can do that kind of lighting but remember this was released in 2011 when CGI was more simplistic.”
Hradek ultimately estimated that the footage had a relatively low probability of being CGI, while emphasizing that questions about where and when the footage was actually recorded remain unanswered.

Hradek published another analysis shortly afterward, specifically testing Skinny Bob imagery against machine-learning classifiers designed to distinguish CGI from photographic imagery. In that analysis, several of the models produced relatively low probabilities that the Skinny Bob image was CGI. He described the results as supporting his earlier conclusion that the footage was “probably not CGI,” while also acknowledging that the testing did not constitute absolute proof.

A separate forensic examination published in July 2025 also revisited the original 2011 videos using modern techniques. The analysis examined movement, lighting, blinking, motion vectors, Fourier analysis and several AI-generated-content detection tools. Its provocative title was “The Skinny Bob Footage Is Real… But Not How You Think.”

Again, none of these analyses independently proves that Skinny Bob was an extraterrestrial being. What they do demonstrate is that researchers have continued to subject the original footage to increasingly sophisticated technical examination, with some arguing that it does not behave like conventional CGI.
Then, New Skinny Bob Footage Appeared
On July 29, 2026, three new videos began circulating after appearing on a YouTube channel called qtecqot.
The videos were presented as additional material connected to the mysterious Skinny Bob footage. They reportedly include footage of an unidentified craft, what appears to be military personnel examining the interior of a craft, and another apparent appearance of the humanoid figure associated with the original Skinny Bob videos.
The appearance of the videos immediately generated debate online. Some viewers have argued that the material represents previously unseen footage from the same source, while others have questioned whether the new material was created using modern CGI or artificial intelligence.
At this point, the provenance of the new footage remains unverified.

A Mystery Gets a New Chapter
The Skinny Bob story began more than fifteen years ago with a handful of anonymous videos uploaded to YouTube.
Since then, the footage has been dismissed by some as CGI or a sophisticated hoax, while others have continued to argue that something about it doesn't fit the conventional explanation.
What makes the latest developments interesting is that the original footage is now being examined with tools that simply weren't available when the videos first appeared. At least some of those analyses have concluded that the imagery appears inconsistent with conventional CGI.
And now, more than a decade after the original videos appeared, new footage claiming to be connected to Skinny Bob has surfaced.
That doesn't settle the mystery.
But it certainly gives investigators, researchers and anyone fascinated by unexplained footage something new to examine.
